Overview
The countries of Southeast Asia evidence the availability of high quality, cheap DRUGS with increasing rates of HIV infection as well as frightening increases in tuberculosis and hepatitis. This module focuses on Thailand, Burma (Myanmar), China, Laos, Vietnam and Cambodia as source, transit and destination countries. The quality and quantity of drugs available is discussed as well as a comparison between the drugs of Southeast Asia and those of western countries. Social and individual health consequences of prolonged use of the various drugs are presented.
