Drugs

Overview

Illegal DRUGS have often been called “the scourge of nations”. Their manufacture, trafficking and use impact adversely on societies in many ways, but particularly in the areas of crime, health, corruption, politics and family values. But a host of other social issues accompany drug trafficking: child abuse and domestic violence, human trafficking, sexually transmitted and blood borne infections.  This course surveys the manufacturing and distribution patterns of illegal drugs in Southeast Asia, and the accompanying social issues that daily effect the people who live and work there.
